Overview
This tour includes the undiscovered Mount. Abune Yosef, the 3rd highest massif in Ethiopia, a home for the endemic wild animals like: Gelada Baboons, Simien Wolf, and birds. Also the famous cave church of Yimrehane Kirsos, which is built even before the 11 rock hewn churches in found in Lalibela town.

Itinerary
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel at 7.30ish. From there directly you will start your trekking tour. Very soon Lalibela stretches underneath your feet and you are already in the beautiful
 LASTA  MOUNTAINS.
After around 3 hours you will reach the first plateau above ABI JACULA called MERABARBU.
There you will have a nice and well- deserved longer stop including some snacks and fruits.
The trek continues to the next plateau called AD MEHANE ALEM (ATABKIT), You will reach it after around 2 hours.

There you also receive your lunch- it will be sent from mountains lodge to you.
From Ad Medhane Alem (Atabkit) you now will continue to walk towards the AD MEDHANE ALEM VILLAGE, NEAR ASTABIR, and your ‘home’ for tonight.Â

After breakfast trek to Abune Yosef Eco Lodge on WEDEBIYE ABO, close to the village called TIGU KEBELE.
You will have lunch and later we will take you to the SMALL and BIG ZIGGIT, beautiful peaks of the area, and highest mountain here, called RIM GEDEL (4284mtr)..
The night you will spend in Abune Yosef Eco Lodge.
after breakfast trekking back to Lalibela, through the still working mountain monastery church called ASHETEN MARYAM, home for some monks and nuns, living some sort of hermit life there.Â
You will reach Lalibela around 3pm.
